SEO Part 1
Search Engine Optimization
It appears a lot of businesses are receiving cold calls from far off SEO companies claiming to get them to the top of search engine rankings for a few Euro in the last while.
I have been inundated with calls regarding SEO and what to do about these calls so over the next few posts I have decided to make the content public and try to give a layman’s version of what SEO actually is.
SEO is basically making sure that your business website is optimized for a search engine.
Rule no 1, and this is where web design is different to web development everything you have and know about your business has to be turned into content, good content. Content is King. Search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo etc are built to find unique content. Yes there are technical differences between the various search engines but unique content is still the prime prize. This will become more important in the future as more and more people plagiarize content from other sites. The more unique your content the more opportunities you give search engines and the general public the opportunity to find your products and services and engage with you on your website.
Tips, Engage a professional copywriter or developer but work with them and give them the material they ask for.
They can edit your knowledge into text.
Conversations are like small nuggets of gold when it comes to your business, you know more than you think and no one knows it better, those conversations on a daily basis about your business and the ideas are what should be ion your website.
Videos are a fantastic way of turning your hand to blogging. Statistics show that websites with videos and photos do get more traffic and retain traffic for longer. I will publish more about SEO in the next few posts.
